The first demonstration meeting for Top Table Toastmasters (TTT) took off last night with some exemplary performances demonstrating what people can achieve when given a nurturing forum in which to practice their public speaking skills.
Brigitte delivered a memorable thought of the night noting that in order to really test one’s mettle we need to see how they operate in positions of power. Table Topics took on the form of a debate led by Christine as to the efficacy of daylight saving. Much frivolity ruled the business session as Nicky took us thro’ a ‘play’ form of how to run a business session.
Rod Sheather gave a fantastic performance in his telling of the tale about his ‘Cousin Lionold going for a ride’. It was a speech littered with incredibly descriptive and humorous word images that had the audience both enthralled and in stitches.
David Knox delivered a commanding speech also showing catchy word usage about his own life story and Kaj showed us all why he won the Division evaluation contest by providing an excellent appraisal of both David’s speech and the meeting.
A wonderful night was had by all! Please join us for the next meet and come and see what Toastmasters can offer!
